Evokazz Well-known Member. I have always messed with the delay to try and find a sync that makes me happy, but always never get it spot on. On getting my new gear one of the first things I did was add a delay, as previous experience tells me a delay used to always be required when using an amp.

I have read somewhere though that when using HDMI even through an amp, that no sync should be needed at all only on SkyHD which has known sync issuesis this true? Would setting the delay on the amp to 0 give me perfect sync on all devices?

Can't test just now as not at home, but curious.

Maybe by tinkering these past few years I've purposely made things out of sync before fine tuning? I think you will have auto lip sycn on the It is part of my Denon I have no problems with Sky HD, although it is connected by optical digital. I have fiddled a little, especially with blu ray. Although there seems to be few issues with a Denon player, some, and these are few, Sky programmes do seem to be problematic but this could be broadcast based.

My misses tells me it's fine, nothing wrong with it, but I find I spend more time watching lips flap about, than enjoying things these days. AV synchronization can be an issue in televisionvideoconferencingor film. In industry terminology the lip sync error is expressed as an amount of time the audio departs from perfect synchronization with the video where a positive time number indicates the audio leads the video and a negative number indicates the audio lags the video.

Digital or analog audio video streams or video files usually contain some sort of synchronization mechanism, either in the form of interleaved video and audio data or by explicit relative timestamping of data. The processing of data must respect the relative data timing by e.

If the processing does not respect the AV-sync error, it will increase whenever data gets lost because of transmission errors or because of missing or mis-timed processing. Examples of transmission broadcastingreception and playback that can get the AV-sync incorrectly synchronized:.

When a digital or analog audio video stream does not have some sort of explicit AV-sync timing these effects will cause the stream to become out of sync:.

The result typically leaves a filmed or televised character moving his or her mouth when there is no spoken dialog to accompany it, hence the term "lip flap" or "lip-sync error". The resulting audio-video sync error can be annoying to the viewer and may even cause the viewer to not enjoy the program, decrease the effectiveness of the program or lead to a negative perception of the speaker on the part of the viewer.

Television industry standards organizations, such as the Advanced Television Systems Committeehave become involved in setting standards for audio-video sync errors. Because of these annoyances, AV-sync error is a concern to the television programming industry, including television stations, networks, advertisers and program production companies.

Unfortunately, the advent of high-definition flat-panel display technologies LCD, DLP and plasmawhich can delay video more than audio, has moved the problem into the viewer's home and beyond control of the television programming industry alone.

For television applications, the Advanced Television Systems Committee recommends that audio should lead video by no more than 15 milliseconds and audio should lag video by no more than 45 milliseconds. SMPTE standard ST, published in[9] provides technology to reduce or eliminate lip-sync errors in digital television.

The standard utilizes audio and video fingerprints taken from a television program. The fingerprints can be recovered and used to correct the accumulated lip-sync error.

When fingerprints have been generated for a TV program, and the required technology is incorporated, the viewer's display device has the ability to continuously measure and correct lip-sync errors.

However, these timestamps are often added after the video undergoes frame synchronization, format conversion and preprocessing, and thus the lip sync errors created by these operations will not be corrected by the addition and use of timestamps. The Real-time Transport Protocol clocks media using origination timestamps on an arbitrary timeline. A real-time clock such as one delivered by the Network Time Protocol and described in the Session Description Protocol [16] associated with the media may be used to syntonize media.

Features of Adobe Animate CC include vector graphicsrich texts, animationaudio synchronization and lots other creative actions. Animating mouth along with other body parts is indispensable part of character animation. An animator must create a good-looking mouth for the character and then animate and sync it with the narration.

Therefore the animator must select the suitable mouth shape for his character and must synchronize the mouth movement with the audio.

Adding lip-synchronization enhances storytelling part of the animation. Matching the shape of the mouth with the sound of the vowel is important in audio synchronization.

Even in mute stage audience can follow the narration of the plot by observing the Lip-Sync of the character. Mouth-Synchronization was a challenge for animators in the previous 2D animation software.

With Adobe Animate CC there is no need to draw each position of the mouth according to the voice. This Lip-Syncing tool can automatically choose the shape of the mouth according to the narration used.

Fully automatic movement of the mouth is possible with Auto-Lip-Sync tool, no need to insert individual key-frames. Key-frames can be automatically created at different positions matching the audio. The above image shows us the audio track in the waveform pattern and the mouth track consist of key-frames matching the audio layer. With the help of Frame Picker option inserting key-frames for the mouth pose is also hassle free. The animator can select any mouth pose and place it in the timeline; lip-sync will be automatically done.

This automatic Lip- Syncing option has proved to be a great advantage for the animators. Animators are now free from time consuming sketching of each and every Key-frame. To synchronize the mouth shape with the audio, the animator has to simply insert the mouth track and the audio track within the timeline and the select Lip-Syncing option. The beak of the gull is the graphic symbol and if we double click on that we will see number of poses of beak under Lip-Syncing dialog box.

Different box has different shapes of beak matching with the sound like Ah, Er, Oh, M etc and these are also called Visemes. Graphic symbol consist all the mouth poses or visemes; on clicking the graphic symbol a pop-up will appear with all the poses inside the graphic symbol. After modifying the mouth pose click on the Lip-Syncing button under the properties and it will be automatically done.

How To Create Automatic LipSync Animation with Papagayo in Blender 2.8

With this automatic Lip-Syncing option an animator can create mouth on any 2D character whether animal or human. First animator will have to import the audio track and the Image of the character on the timeline and then Lip-Syncing option will enable placing appropriate mouth shapes based on the audio layer.

Automatic Lip Sync is so easy and comfortable that animator can apply this on any image type. Learn more about this simple and enjoyable 2D animation software with us. Hi - wonder if anyone can help with an issue with my Yamaha V receiver. This issue is the same with all sources - always stuck on Manual. Firmware is fully up to date.

I'd concentrate on finding what is causing the video delay. It is more often than not as a result of additional processing being applied to the video that that causes lip sync issues to arise. Keep additional video processing to a minimum by disengaging any additional motion flow processing etc on the TV. If getting inconsistent syncronisation relative to sources such as your SKY box then I'd suggest the issue is with what is being broadcast as opposed to it being anything to do with your hardware.

SKY have a particularly bad reputation for lip sync issies. Last edited: Jan 19, SkyQ has a lip sync adjustment under the audio settings. Thanks for the responses. Picture processing is minimal with most features turned off, so potentially an issue with the app but not sure. Still, odd that I have no option to turn on auto lip sync on the receiver. Lots of our character animators create interesting characters. Often, they need to simulate the effect of characters talking to each other or directly to the audience. They spend an inordinate amount of time mapping mouth poses to the sound inflections just to simulate this.

We collaborated with the Adobe Sensei team and came up with a solution where animators can use the Auto Lip-Sync to do this automatically. Please let us know what you think about this new feature and how it can be enhanced. We are also keen to know other similar problems that could potentially be solved using machine learning or AI.
